It has been just over a year since The “Black Swarm” conquered the land. An unrelenting swarm of dark furred rats led by Saw-tooth defeated the humble defenders of the realm, murdered the royal family and sacked nearly every major city in the kingdom. While a few hold-outs remain resistant most of the people have scattered or been forced to serve under the new leadership.
Meanwhile another force has risen in the land. A religious movement known as the Way of Flame has formed camps and settlements across the land, taking in refugees and giving them safety and purpose. Under the leadership of “Soft Paw” they have resisted the rats and even converted some of them to their ranks. The Way of Flame warns that a time of fire and purification is close at hand.
Some of the creatures of the realm, what few true fighters still remain have banded together to form a small roving team of mercenaries led by Cherla known as “The Fleet Feet”
